Castelo Branco’s City Council plays a fundamental role in promoting and boosting aeronautics in the municipality, supporting various disciplines such as ultralight and light aviation, aeromodelling and free flight.

As part of its commitment to the development of the sector, it promotes the practice of sport aviation, gliding, parachuting and model airplanes, encouraging participation in flight-related activities. In this context, Aeroclube de Castelo Branco plays an essential role, promoting initiatives that bring the community closer to aviation and providing training and events that boost the aerodrome.

Castelo Branco’s Municipal Aerodrome, located approximately 5 km northeast of the city, is a strategic infrastructure for the region. It has an asphalted runway that is 1,460 meters long and 30 meters wide, in class G airspace, allowing safe operations under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) for most of the year.
